Thank you for your interest in volunteering at The Wildlife Sanctuary.
There are many needs, projects and activities at The Wildlife Sanctuary. Each of our volunteers goes through an in-depth training program so they understand that our residents are w-i-l-d animals, and that care and caution is required to be around them, feed them, and be observant of their health needs. Training for animal caretakers is more in-depth than training for volunteers working on site but not in close proximity to the animals.
Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older. Anyone under the age of 18 will be required to submit a Parent Approval form (sent out in advance to those volunteers who are selected). Every volunteer must sign a Waiver of Liability form (completed at the beginning of the training session). Parents must sign this form for individuals under the age of 18.
The Wildlife Sanctuary is an excellent venue for Boy Scouts, including Life Scouts and Eagle Scouts, and Girl Scouts to fulfill the qualifications for merit badges for advancement. The Wildlife Sanctuary benefits our natural wildlife, the local community, and anywhere one of our released animals may wander, or one of our visitors may take a memory with them.
